Accessibility Statement

OttieBox is built to teach anyone the basics of investing, and that only works if the product itself is usable by anyone. This page describes where things stand today, honestly, not a compliance claim.

Our target

We're working toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA across ottiebox.com and the learning app. We are not certified and don't claim full conformance yet. Treat this as a statement of intent and current status, not a guarantee.

What's already in place

Meaningful alt text on images that carry information, and empty alt text on purely decorative ones, so screen readers don't announce visual noise.
ARIA labels on icon-only controls (account, close, dismiss, sound, focus mode) so their purpose is announced even without visible text.
Semantic language and document structure, and standard browser focus indicators on interactive elements, so keyboard navigation stays visible.
Respect for your device's "reduce motion" setting on pages with scroll or entrance animation.
Text sized and spaced to remain legible when zoomed or when a browser's own text-size setting is increased.

Known limitations

The lessons and reading material are the most accessible part of OttieBox. The practice simulators (the drag, tap, and timing-based games used to build intuition) are primarily visual and haven't been fully adapted for screen readers or switch-based navigation yet. If a game gets in your way, the lesson content around it still stands on its own, and we'd like to hear from you so we can prioritize it.
